Jack "Jackie Del" Johnson, 77, of Metropolis, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the First Methodist Church Metropolis with Jeff Bealmear and Joey Dunning officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Jack was an amazing man and was loved by many. Many known him from owning J&D's pawn shop. He was an active member of the First Methodist Church Metropolis, where he lovingly dedicated his time and labor to its betterment. In his better days, Jack could be found cutting up in the mornings with the other old men at Rube's in his "gravy eating shirt". Jack was an avid Chevy lover. He was a member of a car club. He loved his classic vehicles, and put so much loved into remodeling his 69 Chevy Big Block truck and taking it to car shows. It was even featured in magazines.
