METROPOLIS - Jerry Ray Korte, 78, of Metropolis, passed away on Tuesday evening, Jan. 21, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side.Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Zion Evangelical Church. Scott Logeman, Kevin Logeman, and Justin Wolfe officiated. Burial followed in the Zion Evangelical Church Cemetery with military rites.Jerry was a lifelong farmer, a member of Zion Evangelical Church, and a Pioneer Seed dealer. He served on the Massac County Youth Fair Board, Massac County Soil and Water Board, and the Massac County Fire Department Board. He served in country in the Army National Guard.Jerry is survived by his sons, Jeff Korte and wife Caitlin, Jason Korte, and John Wesley Korte; seven grandchildren, Thomas Nixon, Emilee Korte, Rhett Korte, Stetson Korte, Hunter Korte, Case Korte, and Annaleigh Phillips; sisters, Janice Watson and husband Jim and Judy Watson; sisters-in-law, Donna Christian and husband Bobby and Holly Crouch; brother-in-law, Jerry C
