Connie Gower, 97, of Brookport, passed away at 11:25 p.m. Friday, Aug 2, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family.Eastern Star Rites will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, followed by funeral services at Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Seaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery.Connie was retired from Magnavox in Paducah, a member of First Methodist Church in Metropolis, and the Eastern Star Universe Chapter 508 for over 70 years.Connie is survived by her grandchildren, Jason Morris and wife Jessica and Valerie Lesniak and husband Matthew; great-grandchildren, Bohdi Morris, Olivia Lesniak, and Lucas Lesniak; several nieces and nephews.Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Modest (Young) Athy; husband, Eugene "Red" Gower; daughter and son-in-law, Jean Ann and Kenneth "Dale" Morris; sisters, Wanda Jackson and Ruth Knable.Visitation will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funera
