Timothy Wade Glidden, 57 of North Port, formerly of Metropolis, Illinois, and Modesto, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by love ones in Port Charlotte, Florida, on Friday, May 24, 2024. Tim was born on Oct. 13, 1966, in Paducah, to Ansel and Virginia (King) Glidden. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis, Illinois. Burial will follow at Mt. Sterling Cemetery.Tim was of the Christian faith and loved Jesus. Over the years he worked at Big John's in Metropolis, Walmart in Sparta, Illinois, and The Front Porch Cafe in Modesto, Illinois.He loved meeting people and there was no such thing as a stranger to him. Tim's love for music covered many genres; Elvis was a favorite. He also packed a lot of adventures into his life: swimming with dolphins, boating, air boat rides, and riding ATVs, just to name a few.
